Leona Lewis New Single – “Collide”

Leona Lewis released the single “Collide” today off her upcoming album Glassheart. I have to admit I’m disappointed in it; it starts out oddly mellow, which could have been a good change of pace for her, but then evolves into her usual high-tempo ballad – but it’s missing the driving, catchy hooks of her previous singles such as “Bleeding Love” and “Better in Time.” It’s also too repetitive – the entire song is essentially a repetition of “crash into me – we can collide.” And I hope she realizes that all anyone can think about upon seeing the title is Howie Day’s “Collide,” that classic of pop love songs.
