I’m not usually a stand-up comedy girl. But when my brother introduced me to Trevor Noah, I fell with a crash. This South African comedian has achieved international fame within two years of beginning his career, and there’s a reason for it – he captures the life of the modern-day citizen of the world with warm, witty, brilliantly biting humour. This isn’t for the easily offended – Noah is decidedly not politically correct as he does what comedians do best, but even as he’s lancing various cultures (and few seem to go unscathed), there’s a boyish charm there that offsets his words. Not gonna lie – I’m just as much a sucker as the next girl for intelligence and the British accent (South African English is very similar to British English), and I may be a little in love.

Noah has toured across Africa and Britain.
